The crossover network developed by ORBID SOUND ^® and equipped with selected components is the heart of this versatile 3-way system.

The high frequencies are delivered via a tweeter with a 1″ silk dome tweeter and a waveguide, ensuring even dispersion of the high frequencies and a large soundstage. Despite the low height of the PLUTO floorstanding speaker, no musical information is lost in the listening position or in the room in general.

The midrange driver is fully integrated into the front of the cabinet, which enhances the spaciousness of the sound. It ensures great transparency and is responsible for the precise and lively reproduction of the midrange frequencies and the clarity of the musical content.

The 20cm bass driver with rubber surround and sturdy cast aluminum basket ensures an even more powerful and precise bass foundation.

The PLUTO floorstanding loudspeaker copes very well with all music styles, but can score a few extra points with fans of fast rock music due to its quick response paired with the dynamic behavior of its woofer chassis.

Optimal not only for stereo PLUTO floorstanding speakers

Of course , like all our models, the PLUTO floorstanding speaker can be expanded from a stereo setup to a surround system. Our perfectly matched surround components are particularly well-suited for this. Operation in a 2.1 setup with one of our subwoofers is also a highly attractive solution in terms of sound when larger floorstanding speakers are not possible due to space constraints.

History of the PLUTO floorstanding loudspeaker:

As early as the early 1980s, ORBID SOUND ^® introduced the small 3-way PLUTO system into its product range. With a total height of just 55 cm, the small PLUTO quickly conquered many youth rooms and living rooms. With its compact size and high power handling, this model surprised many guests at small and large private events and has earned a loyal fan base to this day.
