The flagship of the ORBID SOUND ^® collection is our  JUPITER floorstanding loudspeaker. A speaker steeped in tradition, now in its 6th generation, it’s better than ever. Honored with the Favourite Award by fairaudio, it has not only impressed the editors of the renowned online magazine, but has also captivated countless music lovers since the late 1980s.

Committed to tradition and following our philosophy, we have completely redesigned our JUPITER floorstanding loudspeaker with Model 6. The goal: to achieve the highest level of precision and sonic enjoyment in music reproduction. The idea: less travel – more musical experience. With a new, attractively dimensioned design, a fine selection of drivers, and a carefully selected crossover configuration, we have more than achieved this goal.

The elimination of a path greatly benefits the appearance due to the smaller dimensions, but does not detract from the sound. Quite the opposite: more crispness in the treble, finer resolution in the midrange, and more control in the bass, along with a larger soundstage, ensure a harmonious and clear frequency spectrum for every musical style, leaving nothing to be desired for the listener.

Our JUPITER perfectly reproduces the finest high-frequency sounds without ever seeming exaggerated. This is ensured by the highly efficient compression tweeter, which always plays with a light, airy quality and never feels strained – or even reaches its limits – even at higher volumes.

In combination with mids that don’t dominate but still exhibit a high degree of presence, the result is the open and transparent sound so typical of ORBID SOUND ^® . We call this the ‘live character.’ And our customers have known for decades that this makes listening to music seem alive and therefore truly enjoyable.

In the bass range, the two 10-inch speakers deliver precise, dry, and completely controlled bass. They provide the right foundation, but are never overpowering.

History:

Since the late 1980s, a large floorstanding speaker with initially one and then two 25cm woofers has been an integral part of the ORBID SOUND ^® product range. The JUPITER  model was launched in 1988/89 and impressed customers not only with its impressive size but also with its high-quality 4-way configuration.
